Working together in the service of good agriculture
Located in the province of Ragusa, Abiomed is a young and dynamic organisation of agricultural producers who, united by passion for their work, strive daily to bring healthy and fresh fruit and vegetable products directly from the land of Sicily to consumers’ tables.
The first PO in Southern Italy in terms of value of marketed production and in the top twenty in Italy, Abiomed incorporates several farms operating in the production of quality fruit and vegetables, for a total of 344 producers, 273 of which are direct members, present in 6 Sicilian provinces.
The most represented province is Ragusa, where 50% of the producers operate, followed by the provinces of Agrigento, Catania, Caltanissetta, Siracusa, and Trapani. We select our members on the basis of certain criteria that are fundamental to us: legality, transparency in business management, and respect for good agricultural practices.
Our mission is to invest in healthy agriculture that contributes to people's well-being, guaranteeing quality Sicilian fruit and vegetables and combining respect for the environment with the need for fresh and healthy produce. We have always tried to communicate to consumers the benefits of a lifestyle that combines healthy eating and physical activity.
Our commitment, aimed above all at the younger generations, takes the form of social and cultural activities such as sponsoring sports events and solidarity initiatives, aimed at promoting the health and well-being of consumers.
